In Chargify (Maxio):

Upgrade their version if applicable (Personal version no longer exists)

If no subscription exists, create a new customer and subscription

If one already exists as ‘Canceled’, create a new subscription but you can use the existing contact for the new one and leave the canceled subscription as canceled.

Create ‘Catch Up’ Fee as a customization charge
Note: Charge unpaid months as business version if they were personal version.-
You’ll want to create a new subscription and then add this new subscription to the existing customer (client)

Quick Actions -> Create subscription

Step 1 -> ‘Select an Existing Customer’ – find the client and select them

Leave Collection Method - Default

Leave Payment Method blank so they enter their preferred payment method

Send Statement Emails – Default
-
First Billing Date – Default (Immediately)

Step 2 -> Select a Product – Customization Fee

Finish by clicking ‘Create Subscription’

Once the new subscription is created, you’ll be taken to this new subscription’s page.

Go to Components à Search ‘Customization’ and using the three-dot icon choose ‘Update Quantity’

For the Quantity field, enter the number correlated to the dollar amount, as noted $1 per unit.

Prorate Options:
- Charge the full amount of the difference in quantity
- Charge immediately
- Leave the charges on the subscription to pay for at renewal
- Do Not Credit
Memo: Write a description that outlines the customization charge. -
Finish by clicking ‘Update’

By going to the Summary screen, you’ll note the balance reflects a dollar amount previously entered as the $1 per unit fee number.

Note: This new subscription will be available when the client views their subscription link. Subscriptions are separated, so they’ll need to enter payment methods for each subscription charge.

Create One-time Restoration fee of $200 as a customization charge

Repeat steps outlined for the ‘Catch Up’ Customization Charge above
